Sampling for the different workpackages of the EU-project WESTHER is carried out on different sites west of the British Isles, and on 4 "outlier" sites in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and northern Norway (see map below, can be downloaded as high-resolution pdf-file, 216 kB; requires Acrobat (R) Reader). Some of the sites are to be sampled twice a year (indicated by double outlines). A detailed sampling scheme was agreed upon to meet the high demands some of the partners have on the material quality (see below) . The scheme can be downloaded (pdf-file: 168 kB; requires Acrobat (R) Reader).

Most project partners are involved in sampling. See section workpackages, WP 01, for more details.
